Electric Vehicle Community Readiness Workshop

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) hosted the Electric Vehicle Community Readiness Workshop on May 1, 2013, to help advance the deployment of electric vehicles and related infrastructure. The workshop featured leaders of 16 electric vehicle community readiness projects. In a panel format organized by topic, participants shared findings, described lessons learned, and evaluated accomplishments.

Participants included DOE representatives, automobile manufacturers, utilities, state energy offices, metropolitan and regional planning organizations, Clean Cities coalition coordinators and stakeholders, and academic institutions.

The workshop provided a unique opportunity to learn about preparing communities for electrification of motor vehicles.
